Hurricane Preparedness Week at NC State – Be Pack Ready!

Hurricane Preparedness Week is a national initiative designed to help individuals and communities get ready for the threats of hurricane season. At NC State University, we take this time each year to raise awareness, encourage planning, and ensure our Wolfpack is ready to act before, during, and after a storm.

Why is Hurricane Preparedness Week Important?

North Carolina is no stranger to hurricanes. These storms can bring destructive winds, flash flooding, power outages, and dangerous storm surge. Preparing  now — before hurricane season officially begins — can help you stay safe and minimize disruptions to your life at home, school and work.

Whether you’re a student living on or off campus, a faculty or staff member, or a visitor to NC State, having a clear plan and knowing how to respond to severe weather can make all the difference. Hurricane Preparedness Week is your reminder to prepare early — not when a storm is already on the way.
