Unit Pack Plans
Fostering Resiliency
Continuity plans establish protocols for units and colleges to continue operations despite disruptions from unplanned circumstances. The Department of Emergency Management and Mission Continuity, in partnership with the Office of Research and Innovation, the Office of Faculty Development and theOffice of Information Technology, guides these resiliency efforts, addressing pre-event planning, event response, sustainability and continuity of services. Plans address short-duration events primarily, with events over 30 days requiring substantial University planning and assistance to sustain the university’s mission critical activities.
Unit and college level plans contain information regarding academic, research, business and mission continuity. This information extends the university’s Emergency Operation Plan with department specific information, processes, perceived risks and available resources to respond and recover.
Pack Ready Continuity Plans
Guided by the Emergency Planning and Mission Continuity Steering Committee, our planning teams engage stakeholders to develop and/or update plan components annually. Mission and business continuity plans contain information on:
- Department risks and impacts
- Communication trees
- Critical services and IT infrastructure
- Relocation planning
- Evacuation planning and emergency procedures
- Training resources
Research Continuity Plans
Guided by the Research Continuity and Recovery Committee, research continuity efforts engage campus units in identification of impacting risks to research and development of mitigation plans. Planning information is available via Office of Research and Innovation. Plans should be reviewed at least annually, but are dynamic and should be updated when information changes in your department or college.
Academic Continuity Plans
Guided by the Office of Faculty Excellence, academic continuity efforts support classes and instruction activities, identifying essential functions and personnel necessary to sustain courses. Each department/academic unit should develop a plan, in addition to individual course continuity plans developed by course instructors. Academic continuity plans should be reviewed in their entirity at least every 3 years, with annual review for timely updates that impact the academic mission and essential services within the college.
Plan Access
Each unit and college has designated planners that are most familiar with the information. Pack Ready Emerency Preparedness and Continuity Plans are available for ready access in Google Team Drives, by planning unit and wrapped under UNITY ID. Need more information or assistance?
